Our Community

One of the greatest assets of St. Francis School is our community. You will be hard pressed to find a more inviting, supportive, caring and giving group of parents and parishioners. It is a difference you can feel just visiting one of our events. Not only do we look out for one another, but we enjoy gathering. The result is a supportive environment for our students and families that extends well beyond the school day.
 
Our Parent Student Organization is very active, providing lots of opportunities for the community to connect and families to get to know each other better. Events include family fun nights; barbecues; a father/daughter dance; student and parent-oriented educational and developmental presentations; and Catholic Schools Week (a week-long celebration of the grandparents, parents, teachers and students involved with Catholic education).


THINK KINDNESS
Think Kindness is a non-profit organization that inspires measurable acts of Kindness in schools and communities around the world. Each year, the organization travels coast to coast challenging over 80,000 students to ’15 Days of Kindness’. Brian Williams has been featured on TED Talks, MTV, USA Today, and MSNBC. He has spoken to over 250,000 students across the country, collected over 300,000 pairs of shoes for needy children and families around the world, and produced 2 award-winning humanitarian documentaries.
In 2016, Brian challenged our students to perform 5,000 acts of kindness. We exceeded that and recorded over 6,000! Brian congratulated us, noting

"Out of 88 schools in the nation, St. Francis School was voted the kindest K-8 school!"

In 2017, we accepted the Think Kindness Year Two challenge for students to document their acts of kindness on slips of paper which formed a "chain" of kindness, long enough that it circled the inside of the gym!
